The Bachelor is a 5 year curriculum that develops students in to professional doctors who are ready to challenge any obstacles standing in front of their career through preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative medicine.
SEGi University seeks to give the best of effective professional care through developing and producing doctors who seek to always learn and be updated with the constantly changing medicine advancements. The process of this happening includes diverse teaching and learning experiences where a student learns holistic care of the patient and the profession’s ethics.
There are three phases in the MBBS program; the first phase includes the first two years where students learn basic medical sciences and studying subjects such as Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pathology, Medical Microbiology and Medical Parasitology, community medicine and early clinical exposure in an integrated system approach. Students will be exposed to clinical clerkship during the second phase through one year of rotational posting in basic life support, internal medicine, surgery and women’s health.
Phase three students advance to senior clerkship which covers two years in various clinical disciplines, namely community based medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, surgery, orthopedics and psychiatric and other specialized fields of medicine that also includes forensic medicine. Students are encouraged to develop communication skills, social responsibility, team-building, critical thinking, problem-solving, leadership and management throughout their five years of studies.
